Create tangible change in our food system
Our work is made possible in large part due to the generous support from our community of donors. Kitchen Table Advisors has been fortunate enough to receive contributions from individuals and socially-responsible businesses, as well as grants from foundations. Your support enables us to continue our work of providing one-on-one, in-depth business advising, and to grow from serving an initial 10 clients to a current total of 50 farms and ranches.
Donor Profile: Diane Meier-Phelps
Financial contributions of individuals like Diane have a direct and tangible impact on the small sustainable farms that form the foundation of a healthy food system. Diane is a partnership and marketing strategist to nonprofits, corporations and start-ups; mother to a 12-year old future farmer; an organic gardener; and an avid home chef - what weaves all these aspects of her life together is a passion for vibrant local economies, sustainable food systems and healthy social enterprise. A long-time CSA member of Full Belly Farm, a regular at the Palo Alto farmers' market, and a volunteer & donor for Slow Money, Diane still found herself asking "How can I move beyond this and be directly involved in the sustainable food movement"? Her answer was clear - I need to support the farmers who are essential to our economy and my family's well-being.
It comes as no surprise, then, that Diane and her family have found a tangible outlet for their philanthropy in Kitchen Table Advisors. Through their dollars, they are providing farmers with thoughtful, strategic support to help them in what is an incredibly difficult life pursuit. Moreover, not only has Diane donated her financial resources to the organization, she has also spent numerous hours as a volunteer telling the story of Kitchen Table Advisors through grant proposals, and as a champion connecting us with like-minded people in her network at Stanford. We are fortunate to have Diane in our community in more ways than one!
