New Kitchen Cabinet Member Kate Hamilton, an expert in the sustainable growth of nonprofit organizations, has come on board to advise us on fundraising and strategic organizational development. Kate grew up in a family of activists, started her career as an environmental activist and educator, and has spent over a decade working in nonprofit fundraising and communications. She is currently the Development and Communications Director for Disability Rights Advocates.
Kate earned a master's in nonprofit management from the University of San Francisco, for which she wrote a thesis on changes in program diversity and quality as nonprofit organizations grow from a local to a national scale and identified seven best practices for growing nonprofits. She serves as a board member and advisor for diverse Bay Area organizations, helping them to increase their impact, scale, and revenue.
