Lola grew up in the Sacramento Valley and learned early in life to appreciate the bounty that local agriculture brought to her table.  She spent her early years in the garden with her mom, singing in the local choir, and taking long family road trips across the Southwest.  She studied Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems at UC Davis, and worked throughout college at farmers markets, the UC Davis Student Farm, and during summers at farms across the western US.

After graduation, Lola hit the ground running starting a farm business with two friends.  They operated under the name Green Almond Farm for 4 years in Yolo and Solano Counties growing vegetables for restaurants and farmers markets.  Through this crash course in farming, Lola learned how rewarding agricultural work could be and also experienced firsthand some of the challenges that many producers face - barriers to land access, resilience in the face of climate change, and more.  She has an immense respect for the work that agricultural workers do and has been doing food systems work ever since.

Lola believes that we can build resilience in our food system by celebrating, supporting, and listening to the folks growing our food, and is thrilled to bring her passion and experience to Kitchen Table Advisors.
